Hi, Its been a long while since I last posted a tank. My last tank was a 55gal high tech. My Gf and I moved to an apartment and couldn't take the 55 with us :icon_frow. The landlord said I could have two 25 gallons so I bought two 29's . He'll never notice the difference.

They have been set up for almost a year now with no Issues what so ever!! Both tanks have identical equipment setups and plants.

Thanks:
29g
Aquatop CF-400UV
Catalina 30" dual T5HO
Eco complete
No ferts/excel
Weekly 20% WC

Flora:
Java Fern
Jave lace
Hemianthus callitrichoides not spreading like I'd hoped, don't really mind.
Assorted crypts
Vals

Fauna:
Both tanks have Red cherry rasboras/neon tetras along with a few cory's and Amano shrimp...
One has 2 rainbowfish
The other has 2 bolivian rams.
Both also house nerite snails.

Considering I use dual T5HO fixtures I have zero algae problems and the tanks stay very clean using the Aquatop filters. They are an awesome filter for the price.

I just set up a 7.5 cube shrimp tank that I will be posting in the Nano section soon!

Thanks for checking the tanks out! Let me know what you gays/gals think! I'm always up for a re-scape/new plants that I can grow without co2/ferts!

I forgot to ask, what are some thoughts on a tall background plant? I'm getting sick of seeing my wall/ filter piping. I use to have a wall of ludwigia repens in each tank. Pretty but what a pain in the BEHIND. It would grow past the spray bar and reduce flow, plus the leaves that fell off would be all over the tank! I think something Like a val would be great but I'd really like to get some suggestions! Thanks a bunch!
Crypt spiralis, Bolbitus, Sagittaria, or Italian Vals might be options.

Just about any plant has the potential to grow tall enough to interfere with flow if it decides it likes your tank, though LOL

Since I set up the shrimp tank I've seriously been thinking about a total rescape of both tanks. I'm talking ditch the driftwood and the java fern and set up something totally different! Got any links with pictures, or ideas of your own you could suggest for my setup?
