I'm giving my 29 Gallon a nice upgrade soon, probably within the next 2
months or so, and this is the gear I'm going to order. Input and opinions
would be great, as I don't want to make any mistakes. I have been
researching to an almost extreme amount for the last 3 months and I finally
think I'm ready. Everything from lighting, filtration, CO2, to EI Fert dosing,
I've researched it all. I can't wait, and I sure hope it all turns out well! :icon_bigg

What would I get diatoms from, and how can I prevent them/get rid of them?

You get diatoms from tap water... You need a RO unit for prevent that from happening. Or you could get a diatom filter like vortex theirs more but I can't thing of one right now.

My tap water is good, I've used it for many tanks before with no prob

Will you be buying any fertilizer?
