210 gallon, drilled, 2 fx5s, need advice on plumbing

I have been thinking about a 265 (84x24x30) for a while but settled for a 210 (72x24x29) for reasons of price and availability. As usual with my projects it is all rush-rush. My 125 is filled to bursting with plants, I can't stand it anymore, the aquarium and stand will be delivered on Friday morning and I intend to fill it with water and plants this weekend.

The aquarium is setup for a reef and has two overflows on the back wall. The LFS will take out the overflows, leaving me with (I guess) four holes. I have two Fx5 canisters ready to go.

Please give me advice on hooking these filters up thru the holes. I will be using Turface or play sand for the substrate.

You will not need to overflowing piping either.

You will need the bulkheads, some PVC, strainers for the intake and locline to raise and direct the returns, some 1 inch tubing bibs, which I was able to find at Home Depot, and 1 inch tubing (Home Depot also) to connect from the bib on the lower side of the bulkhead to the FX5.

The FX5 has shutoff's on it, but I would plumb the bulkhead with a shut off and unions for later convinince.
Thanks for your help, I have some questions

"locline to raise and direct the returns" I am not clear on what this is, but I could see some kind of directional tubing, like you sometimes see on reefer returns, would be good. Is that what you are refering to?

I see that you used 1 inch piping from Home Depot, probably intended for dish washers, etc. instead of the Fx5 supplied tubing. Was this due to worries about the pressure or difficulties with getting a good seal on ribbed tubing?

Any ideas about plumbing in CO2, heater, and UV Sterilizer? If I could include those things I would not have to have any equipment over the back!

Thanks,
Rod

Yes the loc-line is the bendy pipes for directing waterflow often used by reefers.

I would recommend ditching the ribbed tubing and replacing it with regular 1" tubing. Then you could plumb in a DIY "rex grigg" style co2 reactor, UV sterilizers and some hydor inline heaters. You might have a problem since the largest size Hydor inline heater and most uv sterilizers come in a 5/8" tubing.
