I have a 20gallon tall fish tank that has been housing 17 kuhli loaches for the last year or so. It has a Eheim Pro II 2026 as filtration. Im wanting to add some more fish. It is not heavily planted, it has a large piece of wood in the center with anubias and java. Thats it.

I was thinking of adding either: [any one or two from below]

-1 Male Betta OR a few female Betta
-maybe some sids
-a ram or a pair of rams
-or some sort of schooling fish

Any suggestions or ideas? I don't want to over stock my tank.

well, with 17 kuhlis, i would not get any fish that stay near the bottom of the tank it just would look unbalanced to me

a betta, or some schoolers would be nice, rams tend to stay near the middle to the bottom and im not sure about sids but i assume middle to bottom as well

on a side note, 17 kuhlis thats awesome must be like a squiggling mass of spaghetti down there

You almost never see the kuhlis, when the lights on there under there "tree" and lights off you cannot see anything. But the blacks come out more in the light then the striped ones.

It really doesn't look like it has fish.
