20g Long lighting, what do you use?

I'm curious what others have used for lighting their 20g long tanks?

I grabbed a 20 gallon long at the petco dollar per a gallon sale and I am trying to figure out lightin for it. I'm thinking of 2x CFL bulbs with work shop lamp/reflectors but don't know watts or height I'd put them at yet. Since its a 30" tank I don't want to buy a 24" led or t5 and have the 3" of dark spots on each side/corners.
I want to do medium-low/medium lighting (using flaoters, a few stems, but mostly anubias in the tank), ferts, but no co2 system (have excel).

You can buy 30" LED and T5 fixtures. I've just been using a lame T8 fixture and have managed to get decent plant growth, but I'm switching to a Finnex Fugeray Planted+.

Wow I feel stupid, thought those sort of fixtures only came in 12"/24"/36"/48" etc measurements.
Yeah, you can buy a 30in Coralife fixture with 30in Coralife bulbs. All other 30in fixtures I've seen use 24in bulbs.

I got a 20 long also from the dollar per gallon sale. I'm using an Odyssea dual 30in fixture with 24in bulbs I had laying around. Was 38.99 Shipped.

If you are handy then you can make nice hood for the shop lights/reflectors otherwise they will look ugly. I bought 30 inch Finnex planted plus but it might be mid/high for 20 gallon long. If you want low/med then Finnex Fugeray might be good for you.
High five to you! I just bought myself a 20g long at the petco $1 gal sale. I ordered a 30" finnex fugeray light, should arrive tomorrow. I don't know if all the Petcos are having it, I live in scottsdale so that's where I got mine from.

My husband is quite handy knows carpentry, plumbing, and electrical so I'm lucky to have him help me alot ^^
I actually plant a single cfl in a work lamp reflector for a 7g cube I have, already asked him to make a wood frame/cover for it so i don't have to see the refelctor. Might ask for a long one for the 30" tank too ^^

What lighting would that Finnex model put you on (if just slapped on top of the tank) medium-high? I wouldn't buy lights from my petco or petsmart, marked up too much, tanks on super sale is the only think I get there.. and the very rare impulse buy like stem plants.
I always get jealous of your dollar per gallon sale! Its a nice dimension. I used to have a Aquaticlife 30" fixture over mine but they were really 24" bulbs. 30" Led is the way to go!
FugRay & FugerayPlanted+

I used a 24" FugeRay and a cheapo 30" Coralife T5NO. The Fugray provide a bright light that let me grow downoi very well. It grew beautifully, and compact. I just received a Fugeray Planted+ today. I had hoped that the planted plus would be bright enough, but its not. It doesn't through a wide enough band of light down to illuminate the whole tank. I am now running both lights on the tank.
