Hello everyone this is one of my first tank builds. I've been keeping track of its progress and I'd like to share it with everyone.

Tank - Innovative Marine 20 gallon rimless

Light - ebay 185w LED black box slightly modded

Filter - Eheim 2211 (maybe underpowered?), 13mm lily pipes

Plants - Monte Carlo (Micranthemum), some sort of Ludwigia, Temple Plant (Hygrophila), some sort of Chain Sword, Moneywort

Week by week Monte Carlo growth - Planted March 6th, 2017 filled on April 24th, 2017

And finally added some plants and filled it up!

Let me know what you guys think! Also any information about the plants I have or filtration or anything really is welcomed and encouraged. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

The tank looks great! I'm very impressed with the growth on that monte carlo in just over a month. What substrate are you using and are you planning on doing co2?
Beautiful scape. I love the way you laid it out. What kind of wood is that? I assume you are going to add a school, have you picked out your fish yet?

Thank you!

The top half of the substrate is flourite black, and the bottom half is an organic potting mix (can't remember the brand)

Also I will only consider running co2 if I see my plants health deteriorate.

Thank you very much!

I believe the wood if I'm not mistaken is Manzita and I purchased it on eBay.

I would actually like to add a school but I hadn't thought much about it. I just figured some Tetras or something but any suggestions are appreciated.

It depends a lot on water parameters but I like Tetras, Rasboras, or Rainbows. None of these should bother your plants, they school nicely and they have a lot of color. These are all pretty easy but I would let my tank run for another month, just me, before I put any fish in it.
I love how its heavily planted on one side and simple on the other. Its like the best of both worlds. :)

Oh yes I will definitely be letting the tank cycle for a least a month. Along with a schooling fish I'd also like to add maybe one or two siamese algae eaters and perhaps some little shrimp

Thank you! This was my idea from the beginning even before I found the driftwood and I'm pretty excited about the way it turned out!! Now on to keeping these plants alive haha!
Amano shrimp would be great to clean things up. A eheim 2211 looks underpowered lol I use it on my 6.6 gallon.

Pretty impressive w/o co2 that carpet in a month!

Yeah I just realized that the 2211 I have has a small leak so I'm sending it back and going for the 2213, which say's its good for up to 60 gallons so hopefully it'll be a good fit for my 20g. Thanks for the tip on the shrimp I'll probably order a few when I go to stock it up.
