#1: I am making an inline, PVC, CO2 reactor. I have most of the stuff I need to do it, including 2-in-1 primer/cement. A plumber friend of mine has been telling me horror stories about the chemicals in the primer. Including the fact that they leach into the water flowing thru the pipe, for some time. Do I even need to use the primer? Or, can I just clean the end of the pipe, scrape it up alittle, and use the cement only? But, If I do need both, is there a "safe" brand, or type, I should use?
#2: I have a Fluval 405 canister filter which I have heard puts out 350 gph, from the return line. I had planed on splitting the return line and running them to 2, 20" long spray bars that will be placed vertically in the 2 rear corners of the tank. The spray bars will be 3/4" clear acrylic pipe, that I will drill 1/4" - 1/2" holes in, along their length, every inch or so. Will the 350gph output be strong enouph to handle being split and squirted out of several holes, in 2 pipes? I'm trying to do this in order to improve water circulation in the tank. I'm sure it would be easier to hook the spray bars up to a submersable pump, but I am trying to keep as much equipment out of the tank as possible.
