My original 30 gallon started leaking, so I had to create a new home for my Crystal red shrimps:

Equipment:
Tank: 23.6" x 11.8" x 14.2"
Filter: Rena Xp3 with DO!Aqua Poppy glass return
Heater: Jager 120 watts
Substrate: 20 lbs of Mr.Aqua Plant soil
Lights: 24" Satellite LED +
Complete Apex monitoring system

Parameters

PH: 6.3
Temp: 68-69f
KH: 0-1
GH: 5
TDS: 175

Plants

Various Anubis
3x marimo ball
Flame moss
Undulata

Inhabitants

4x Otos
Crystal red shrimps from SS-SSS

I am currently still deciding what to put in the back left corner. It's left empty on purpose, because I cannot decide what will fit there best,

Feel free to shoot me some ideas!

looks clean! im assuming the saran wrap around the light is to protect it from splash?
Thanks! yeah, the saran wrap is to protect from splash. It starts to splash when I turn on the airstone, so i figured better be safe than sorry

Looking good! Im just starting up a old 20g for shrimp as well. Best of luck!
What kind of shrimp were you planning on getting?

Bump: Added something new to the back left corner, to fill up the tank a bit. Once the java ferns attach to the wood, and grow more leaves, the left side should look pretty great

Looks nice!

What's the black box on top, some sort of fan or something?

Airstones are always going to splash a bit. One thing you could do is run a strip of glass across the back, behind the light, right above the airstone in the back corner. It wouldn't be very visible since it's behind the light, and if it's above the airstone, all of the splashing would hit it instead of your light.

Thanks Kman!

Also, the black box is a triple fan for cooling aquariums I bought on Amazon for $19, called Sanatop aquarium chiller

Works pretty great so far

Have you thought about painting the back glass black? Really nice shrimp tank :), definately trumps my currently bba infested mess lol

I actually do not mind the clean back glass :) Parts of my flame moss has BBA on it, I slowly remove what I can see, and dose excel in the tank to help with killing it off.

I decide to take a gamble, and start using my pressurized co2 in this tank to help the plants grow a bit. I read that in Japan, breeders there uses co2 + airstone 24/7 to keep a consistant PH level. I will be running my co2 at 1bps and see how the CRS do.

Here is a update of the tank so far:

I added in some Fissidens Fontanus as well as some mini rose moss on a 1x1 SS mesh. Hopefully everything grows nicely, and CRS remain safe :)
