I recently picked up a 13 gallon bowfront - 24" x 12" x 12". I have 2 filters laying around I could use, an Eheim Classic 2215 or an Eheim Ecco 2232.
The 2215 seems like overkill, while the 2232 seems like it might be underpowered.
Inline there will be a Hydor heater, and possibly a CO2 diffuser/atomizer.(not a reactor)

Any advice?

Thanks!

I just got a Eheim 2232 for my 29 gallon tank, for it is rated for a 35 gallon tank. Did you get it?

If it will be moderately to heavily planted I vote 2215... you can always
throttle the flow back a bit if needed using the Eheim disconnects..

The "tank size" ratings on filters are pathetic... AND
extremely optimistic (at best)

This is confusing for the 2232 is rate for up to 35 gallon tank and the 2215 is rated for up to 93 gallons. I thought that higher circulation would decrease the Co2 in the tank thus the smaller one is better to use when not injecting Co2. Correct me if I am wrong.
