This is a cool tank that we have been working on. I did this tank in a friends office waiting room.

The idea was to do a tank that would be very colorful and low maintenance. The low maintenance factor was most important. Much to my friends :(, I only get there about once a month for water change and trimming:) She is in charge of feeding and dosing:)

I think its a very peaceful layout.....hope you enjoy.

Very nice!

Is the black background actually there or do you Photoshop it in?

You like Perfecto tanks don't you? :p
tenellus foreground?
i love the bolbitis as well and those are a lot of harlequins there.
Now if only all waiting rooms had something that beautiful to look at...

Great work
Amazing!! i love harlequin rasboras. (or espei's or hengelis)
I'm loving the harlequin rasboras too... beautiful setup!

It was a dark background, i just used the burn tool to make it more uniform and darker.

HAHHA....I dont really like Perfecto, it just seems to be the trend these days to include your tank make in your post title:icon_roll

ikuzo - it is lilaeopsis :)

They fish are Hengeli :)

Thanks for all your comments:)

wow, wonderful tank! really love the rocks on the right hand side.
:proud: Awesome. Another great layout
i <3 hengeli. I have a school of probably 30 of them and IMO they are > harlequins.
umm thanks for supporting lol... but after a closer look they're hengelis allright. lilaeopsis is hard to grow but you did a great job JB. now post closer pics please :)
I didn't catch that either... looks great either way!!
This tank looks great JB, the best one I've seen today. You really have a nack for this stuff.
Very nice tank, unbelievable for low maintenance!
She is in charge of feeding and dosing:)
What kind of dosing on this tank, if I may ask. How bout lighting and WC regime? No CO2?
what i don't understand is that how do you have lilaeopsis carpet (high light) with anubias and bolbitis at the same time?

They all seem to do very well together. The challenge is GSA. I think if i got to the office more often i could probly get a better fix on it....using some extra P. It is hard to see in this picture....but most of the slower growing plants have some effect of GSA.

Lighting: 4x55watt PC
Substrate: Soil Master Select
Co2: 3-5 bubbles a second (when we remember to check) - currently there is an outbreak of some algae due to us finding the co2 had dropped to almost nothing. A recheck of CO2, excel, and some time will bring it back.
Nutrients: NPK 10:1.5:20 Ratio - daily
WC: I would say 20% once a month.

I just recently got married and went away on a honeymoon, so the tank is in less great shape....but i have began the process of bringing it back. Also, my office helper moved to reef's, so she is a little less excited by planted tanks these days ;)

wow, wonderful tank! really love the rocks on the right hand side.
Thanks for pointing those out. That is one of my favorite parts of the layout.

Hopefully i answered the questions. Please feel free to ask any others.

well Jason congratulations on your marriage. i bet you're in better shape than the tank which is already beutiful.
This layout was featured on Aqu Agora a really cool French board.

Kookaburra had me do an interview that was really fun:) The interview is in French (Kookaburra tells me it will be translated at some point), however you can use the link below for a google translation.

Special thanks to Kookaburra and the members of Aqu Agora.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the interview:)
