12 liter daphnia and shrimp tank

hi all i purchased a 12 l aquarium so i thought id make it a planted tank for my daphnia culture and maybe add a few shrimp from my community tank at a later date

it had a john innes seed sowing mix substrate capped with kiln dried sand and i have painted the sides and the rear of the tank black

should have done a pic before adding the yeast for the daphnia anyone else kept mixed inverts together???
