Hey guys looking to start a new low tech planted tank, need some suggestions for plants, heres what i have so far

Light Clip on LED

Heater Hydor 200w Inline
Substrate Eco Complete Planted Substrate Fine
Flora TBA
Fauna 6x Neon Tetra's 1x Otocinclus

Fertilising Probably, Flourish, Excel and iron but very light dosing

So as you can see i need help picking plants i would like a carpeting plant, i read dwarf sag was good but its banned in Australia, can you suggest any other plants preferably from the south american regions. (Hairgrass maybe?)

also how would Ludwigia Repens cope? i really with the colour

Liliaopsis ' Mauritius" maybe? Just as an aside , and I know you've already got them , but the 2213 and 200w heater are overkill for a 1' cube . Suspect you'll end up throttling back the filter's outlet big time . 2211 and a 25w. heater might have been a better pick .

I have a 11.8" cube with 50 watt eheim jagar heater and 2211 eheim canister filter. You can get away with a 25 watt but for the eheim brand its right on the upper boundary of my tank volume so i just bumped it up, rather have heater heat a little quicker. I bought a bunch of plants this past week, including ludwigia respens, they're current in a 10g holding tank though until the light is ready for my cube, just got them Thursday so can't say anything about how they will do in what environment yet. What are your water parms (ph, gh, kh)?

I think the heater choice was due to lack of other inline heater options.

HEY HAGEN/HYDOR- MAKE A SMALLER WATTAGE INLINE HEATER FOR NANO TANKS! :help: (who knows, maybe they'll see that :icon_smil)

Eleocharis would be a good carpeting option, but you'll need to either add CO2 or dose Excel/substitute for it to do well.

I've heard good things about a line of ferts in Oz that have "Dino poop" and "Dino Pee" names (which totally crack me up :hihi:), and that there's a product comparable to Excel in that line?
