I've just started looking at 10G tanks to setup an aquarium again in my home and was wondering what tanks or kits people would recommend?

I'm looking for something I can setup on my kitchen counter in the corner under the cabinets that's easy to maintain and I can grow easy, low-light plants in as well. Has to be glass and decently priced. I want something that is well-built and will last but won't break the bank.

I had a 5G Marina in the past and loved the filter. I've seen the Penn Plax and read mixed reviews online. The Fluval Flex 9 is very intriguing and tempting but anyone with that tank I'd love your thoughts.

Thanks!

I do not like tanks under cabinets as it makes it hard to get into them and limits lighting height-- but there are times I do things even if I don't like it!
Second is that I do not favor kits as they tend to have things that don't work very well for planted. Lights are usually not enough and covers that come with them seem to just complicate things, so I go for used for small tanks as they are often given away at the end of college terms. I'm lucky in that aspect due to location but there are many tanks which folks start the hobby and find they want bigger without thinking of how they might use the small tank as a QT. Buying tank only gives me more freedom to outfit with the items like filter, light, etc. in a way that fits what I want, rather than what comes with the shop kit. Don't turn down a tank with a scratch if it is on one side as it is simple to paint that side/back and we do often stack things in a way that hides part of the glass.
I did a quick check of the Denver Craigslist and it might look like your market is way high currently as the prices are not what I find at all. Some seem to be higher than new for tank only. Varies from time to time and place to place, though. Goodwill may be a good place to check as I do find bargains there. I do not find brand to be a factor on small tanks.
Just my thoughts and there are certainly lots of ways to play the game.
