I've never used black substrate before so I thought setting up a 10g for shrimp would be a good start. My daughter has these wicked looking red Sakura shrimp in her tank, so I wanted to make a tank that would showcase their colors really well. Simple 10g with black silicone seems, black painted background, and black diamond blasting sand for a substrate. Plants I added are Crypt Parva that I am hoping with spread out, crypt balanase, Ludwigia, and java moss. No shrimp yet, tank is still cycling. Let me know what you think, thanks!
