ok i have very alkiline and hard water. Im talking extreamly hard i have a gravel and crush coral mix. I have play sand i have bout from home depo. My first question is can I use this sand in my tank. 2nd would this benifit the plants that i have. I have several differ types ranging from Combomba to water sprite severl types of cypris I think thats how its spelld. Also if i where to do this how long should I wait to transfer my fish to the new water. Right now all i have in my tank fish wise is 12 ghost shrimp about 10 baby mystery snails and like 2 adults and 1 high fin pleco ( sail fin) 3 cory cats and 2 female bettas. I need help and i want to know what to do

If you have very hard and alkaline water you do not need crushed coral substrate. All that will do is buffer the already hard water, keeping it very hard.
