Hello, I just connected to this forum when searching for information for my first aquarium.
I have a micro tank, substrate, hardscape, plants, and test kit ... and I'm ready to go! (EDIT: I have a light as well)
Previously I have made 2 closed terraria with rainforest plants, one open...
So I recently got into creating closed environment plant terrariums and for Christmas my in-law got me this really cool container. However, it does not have a rubber seal and is relatively loose (I can wiggle it around when its on the container).
I want to make it airtight and I was...
Hello, sorry for bad english but please bear with me, i have built a 120x60x50 cm terrarium with 40mm wooden beams as support for a royal/ball python and will purchase acrylic bathroom paint today to paint it with, the paint has 1g of VOC/L wich is the lowest i was able to find but since it is...
I started a small terrarium and am looking for advice. It's an aqua worx iota (basically a tall cylinder) with UNS controlsoil, a piece of dragon stone, some terrarium plants, a bucephalandra and an anubias nana. The buce and anubias are on the dragon stone. I put water in up to the...
I have created my first terrarium this past week and am hoping to be able to glean some knowledge, insight and feedback as I start this new aspect of my hobby. I snagged a $5 glass bowl and $6 "retro" desk lamp at a garage sale last weekend.
I'm certain I have made all sorts...
My background is in aquariums and I'm recent to the vivarium/riparium/terrarium/paludarium group. I love the concept of utilizing these types of set ups for housing animals / critters, or for generic plant display in the house. I'm passionate about ecology and I've launched a new...

Hi there, I am new here and happy to see a lot of hobbyists helping each other out.

tl;dr: Does anyone have any suggestions or could point me in a direction to research set ups for display emersed terrariums that grow aquatic plants? Possibly mixed with non aquatic plants?
I am currently in the middle of dry starting my 9 gallon fluval flex and am already...
I have just set up a 36 gal long tank for my King Snake. It's pretty low tech right now, but I have plans to improve it once I can save up. It was kind of an emergency set up (rescued the snake from my neighbor's son) turned obsession xD
Right now, I have an LED light screwed into a dome...
I rather recently got into terrariums as a hobby, but it's sort of exploded into the nascent formations of a career, I think. I might be taking it a bit too far, and spending a bit too much of my paycheck on moss and jars. But no matter! I am passionate, I don't mind poverty for a...
I'm new to the forum but have been making bottled terrariums for a few years now. This is my third and largest one and hasn't been watered for about a year and a half. The soil does a good job of staying moist from the condensation which occurs about twice a day.
I was recently given a small glass terrarium. It is only about a foot long and about 8 inches wide, it has a little roof that you can flap up and hold in place.
I will post pictures soon.
I like the idea of keeping woodland-y type plants in there, ferns and mosses etc
It seems quite common...
My name is Michel and I'm a big aquarium fan, but I would also like to start a (small) terrarium and I hope you could help me with this. :)
I have an empty aquarium (20" x 12" x 12") and I would like it to use this as terrarium.
I already have 4 aquariums in my room, and I...
After browsing many pictures of Wabi Kusas and other people's emmersed set ups of many aquatic plants I have decided to start my own emersed project. My goal was to create a nice natural looking scape - A little corner of a jungle in my room.
Substrate: Regular potting soil...
