So i recently aquired a new 40 gallon tank and was planning on making this my summer project. that being said, i want to make a completely unique, heavily planted, custom decor-ed Apisto Community tank. i want to build next to everything (breeding caves, rock fixtures, the works).
Does anyone know of any aquarium-safe oven bake clays? I love sculpting and I thought it would be awesome to make some aquarium ornaments for some tanks!
In additon, does anyone knoe of any aquarium-safe paint to paint said ornaments? (if I cant find any colored clays)

I just wanted to post to say that I used this spray paint on some PVC tubing and I haven't seen any negative effects yet! I searched for a long time trying to find out of it was safe or not, and didn't come up with much. I tried it out...
Has anyone tried using old bones in an aquascape? I have access to some old cow bones; femurs, jawbones, spine, and some cool looking bits of pelvis. These bones are years old and very weathered. Would they leach to many minerals or would they work in a planted fish tank? Anyone? Old bones?

this site and Aquatic Plant Central, ( the other guy ),
and even googled "uses of birch tree limbs in an
aquarium". NOTHING! I can't believe it! It's just
a simple little question. Can it be used? Or does
it have to age for 10 years along...
I'm considering coating some driftwood with polyurethane varnish.
1. Is it safe for fish and plants?
2. If it waterproofs the wood, will I need to hold it down with an anchor (rocks)?
3. Which varnish should I buy?
