Total noob here to the forums. I'm located in Australia so kinda hard to find info on this so far, but I'm looking at making custom decorations and props for tank set ups (for a friend's birthday and personal use). I am planning on designing the item in clay and making a mould to then...
I've been thinking of decorating my tank with marble statues/figurines. I was wondering if the marble-resin material they're made out of is safe for aquariums. Or do they leech toxins?
And if they're not recommended... would coating it in aquarium silicone do the trick?
I've been looking for solution on how to remove silicates from water, as my tap water is very high on silicates causing big trouble with diatoms permanently.
In my search I've found that the anion resin (DI resin) is very good to do the job.
I only have found that this resin is used...
I was unsure where to post this!
I've found a focal point for my tank but it's made from resin. I don't know whether it is poly resin or not.
Is there any way I can tell if it will be aquarium safe? Is there any test I can do on it?
Your help would be appreciated!
