  1. Fertilizers and Water Parameters
I bought the Salifert Profi O2 test kit (says it's for freshwater and saltwater) and I carefully followed the instructions for freshwater. I want to get a general idea of my tank's oxygen levels in the morning (before CO2 on) and then again in the afternoon (right around when the CO2 turns...

Hello, I recently got some cardinal tetra. The first couple of days everything was fine, but now they're breathing from the surface. I lowered the temperature and put on some extra oxygen. The nitrite is low and it's about 24celcius in the tank. Any idea what the problem might be? They don't do...

Hey Guys :laugh2: So this is kind of a continuation of another thread I started, but this time about CO2 instead of about lighting. I am going to start a shrimp only 60l planted tank. From what I understand, CO2 is very beneficial for plant growth, but some people say that it can be harmful to...

This might be a stupid question, but what if your tank is heavily planted and you're not using any co2 system, that would mean that the water would be saturated with O2 right? So in this case, would surface agitation release excess O2 and absorb CO2 to balance out the levels? I've read somewhere...

Hi, My parents got 3 floating lotus plants. They are purely floating ones. This variety has short roots, maybe 2 inches max and doesnt have stems and dont root in the ground i.e. no substrate required. The have big green leaves, max 8 inches diameter. Do such floating plants release oxygen...

I have been running Co2 in my tank, but i think it is too much for my fish. Or they just need a little extra O2. If I have the Co2 running, and an airstone, will they cancel eachother out? As in, will the airstone keep the dissolved Co2 level down too low for my plants to use? Thank you!

I have had 2 angelfish for about 3 months now, in with my CO2. They are the Hagen ones, with the ladder (two of them) about a week ago I got a glass diffuser in the mail and hooked them both up to that-it works great. But now my angelfish seem to like to hang out in the bubbles and get high...
