I recently started another foray into the live-culturing world of daphnia. I tried it when I first started the hobby, and couldn't stop crashing both cultures I was working on. What a mess! I think I was overfeeding, but that's all another matter.
Anyway, my question is this: could I...
Hi! I have a project I'd like to do, where I grow all of the food i'd need for my fish ( Golden Dojo Loach, Peppered and Albino Corys, Albino BN Pleco, Pea Puffers, Black Neon Tetras, Neon Tetras)

About 4 months ago, I inadvertently 0:) began the process of creating a 25 gallon cube tank that would, in theory, supply its own live food. As of right now, I have copepods, daphnia, planeria, scuds, hydra, wollfia (more recently) and some other plants including some java moss, snails, lots of...

ASAP would be awesome :)
Hi! I have started a new planted tank that I am going to try and keep plankton (daphnia, copepods, hydra, etc...) in, in a long-term effort to provide live food for some fish.

My question is this: Can my tank raise its' own food? Is there a species of hardy freshwater bugs that can maintain a population in an aquarium, provide food for the fish, not be decimated, yet not take it over or become pests?
Hey guys I set up a 12 different Microworm Culture experiments. It seems I was highly successful with mass growing rate vs their normal rate of proliferation. I have given 9 away I have 2 of my 5 experimental ones remaining. And if you're in need of some this will be more than just a generous...
Which daphnia are best suited for celestial pearl danios and green neon tetras? Magna, pulex, or moina? I'm thinking the magna are probably too big, but are the moina too small?
Has anyone ever used these guys?
well basically i bought some live daphnia, water fleas, today as food for my fish, but then thought how much cheaper and more convenient it would be to be able to produce them myself. so i was wondering what kinda conditions they like to breed, im not able to get a tank to breed them in. would...
