I’ve got two guppies I need to be ID’d as the guy at my LFS gave a description, but I want to know what you think on this forum
“Cross between a Moscow and a snakeskin” Male
The next one, all I got was that is was a female, super colorful though
Need for ID is not urgent,
I’m just curious
Can anyone tell me what type of snails these are? They were discovered living in my tank and we don't own any snails. I expect they came in on a plant that I added about a month ago.
Thanks in advance!
I just noticed three of these in my new betta tank. Can anyone ID from this picture? I did buy plants online and used water from my established tank when setting this up. I haven't seen any of these in the other tank, so I'm assuming they came in on the plants (which I did not dip in...
Can someone please ID this algae. Is this just brown algae (diatom). This seems to be growing unusually fast for diatom. If I brush it off the leaves it goes off easily, but comes back and spreads really fast within days.
Could someone please help ID this algae that’s recently sprung up on a few of my plants?
Also, any tips on removal and future prevention?

I am fairly new to underwater gardening. I have just been buying one of everything to see what grows in my water and with low tech set ups, so that I can eventually create that masterpiece. ;0)
So, I have heard great things about dwarf lilies and I ordered one online. I rinsed it off...
My lfs said that these are amanos but I'm not too sure now that they're under better lights. They don't have the markings. I don't really care what kind they are as long as they eat algae and won't reproduce.
The biggest is about an inch and the smaller one is about 2/3 inch. Smaller one is...
Edit: Fish illness diagnosed and fixed - unrelated to mystery object (so basically ignore first paragraph). Still curious as to what it could be though. Photo attached below :)
I have a 600L establish planted tank. It only has about 30 fish (6 discus, some loaches, flying foxes, pairs of...
I noticed a white spot near my Cory's tail last night and am trying to identify the problem. I believe it looks larger than ich. It is slightly raised and does not appear to be fuzzy. The fish is acting completely normal and has no other spots. I see no signs of disease on any of her...
I was expecting alternanthera reineckii mini to be less tall and spindly. Is this the right plant, or did the seller send me something else? I'm not experienced enough yet to know.
not sure the image I'm trying to post is working so if it isn't here is the link: https://imgur.com/a/g0kedxj
I recently had an ick outbreak in my tank so I'm treating it with Tetra Guard. I started looking closely at the tank and noticed these weird looking little guys on the glass. Any idea what they are? Their length is about half the width of a pinky nail.
I've never seen them before, so I'm...
I noticed it yesterday and I most likely wouldn't have even noticed if it weren't for the new shrimp I bought. I was watching my new little cuties and then I noticed movement from the back wall of the tank. It's translucent and doesn't feel slime like. Any ideas? It doesn't seems to irritate my...
I have been growing some HC using the dry start method, and a couple of weeks ago, I noticed this growing in my aquarium with it. I think it looks like fissidens, but I have never owned it before and wasn't sure if it was actually that small.
I picked these plants from my LFS, originally thought they were jungle vals and dwarf sags until I realized that their leaves are really thin.
The plants that I thought were jungle vals have leaves that are around 3-4 mm wide, and have sent so many runners out that surprised me.
The ones I...
My usual fish store's shrimp supplier went bust, so I tried a new one and bought three Amano shrimp. They were very small but they said they were just young. They looked all the same, clear bodies etc.
Ive noticed a few weeks later one of them is now dark brown with a line down it. Is this a...
Hey guys. I recently bought this plant, but I forgot the name of it. I think it is Amania gracilis but then I saw other plants like Ludwigia Arculata and Nesaea crassicaulis and I am not sure anymore.

I have recently purchased 2 stones from a LFS at a considerable discount. The stones were sold as 'Volcanic' rock. I googled for it in terms of aquascaping and found no information specifically on these stones. I did found instead a lot of info on lava rock which does not look like...
