I’ve had my 30 gallon tank for a while now but I’m still quite new to the hobby. I only have 1 gold gourami in there at the moment but I would love to get some new fish. I’m not sure what to get or how many and since I’m afraid of overstocking my tank any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I was out on vacation for about 2 weeks and came home to a samurai gourami female that had grown a bump above its mouth/eyes and something black on its mouth.
Does anyone know what this could be from? All other fish, invertebrates and plants are fine at this point.
I've had these gouramis for...
Hey there! So I’ve recently added two Pearl gouramis in my 26 gallon bow front aquarium!
AND YES I know my tank is probably too small for 2 gouramis! I have around 17 small fish under 2inches expect tetra pristellas in the tank and really wanted a peaceful bigger fish as a...
33L, this was after initial setup and a solid base line for my plans for the tank. Also right after putting in the rock poster in the back. Those are so hard to put in when the tank is installed and everything running already. Ended up with a bunch of bubbles. I kinda like it, at some angles it...
I have a 37 gal moderately planted (hoping to get to heavily planted with growth) tank. Running two double sponges and a Fluval Aquaclear 70 HOB.
Stock 5 sparkling gourami,
1 baby bristlenose pleco,
3 Amano shrimp,
1 dwarf Mexican lobster,
7? Mystery snails (I've reduced my stock a lot, but...
I know this a common topic to find info about, but I just wanted to double check my future stocking in my new fish tank I'm setting up.
The size of the tank is a bit odd: 26 x 19 x 12 inch. It's around 25g. (if calculated correct from cm and liters) It's a custom made tank to fit...
Hey Everyone. First time poster here.
I recently moved a Betta and (2) Cherry Shrimp into a 3.5 gallon tank and now have an open, decently planted 10 gallon tank. I was looking at adding a (3-4) Sparkling Gouramis and (1) Honey Gourami into the 10 gallon. I've read conflicting forums regarding...
hi! im new to the forum but have been using the advice on here to build a rough stocking list that i want to hear feedback on as im a novice :) i will be getting my hands on a 55g soon (dont know dimensions, i think its 4’ long) and this is my stocking list as of now:

Hello, about a week ago I added a male pearl gourami to the tank of my female and for some reason did not consider they would breed. Now, she is gravid, and I don't have the accommodations to care for the fry. If I remove her from the tank, will she reabsorb the eggs? Would a local chain store...
So my apartment is getting treated for bedbugs next week. I've been living here for almost 3 years with no problems, and now it feels like my life is over. But anyways, the landlord has exterminators coming in to do a spray treatment.
My question is, how do I prepare my aquarium for this? To go...
I have a pearl gourami that has kind of a milky discoloration on his head. It's not always the exact same, sometimes it clears up a bit but then comes back. I had a redtailed shark in the tank (now removed) that would bully gourami. The gourami took to hiding in a small spot in the the roots of...
I started up my aquarium about a month and a half ago (fish in cycle- used TSS).
Current parameters for the tank are:
Temperature- 76 degrees
Some silk plants and 2 el nino fern
Penn Plex Castle and cave
Just picked up 5 dwarf honey gouramis for my tank, and I noticed that a couple have little brown spots that appear to be under their skin. Currently have them in a little hanging quarantine tank. Any idea what these spots are? Some kind of parasite? Is it safe to add them to the aquarium?
I have 1 Pearl Gourami in my tank, that has white Crystal like growths on him... and his fins seem to be becoming slightly shredded as time wears on. I believe it's a male, I am new to Gouramis, and have been trying to learn what i can.
Here are my parameters atm with our tank...
I have 2 male blood sword tails, and they are picking at 12 of my rasboras occasionally, and frequently picking at my 1 dwarf gourami. i added a bunch of plants and made one corner very dense with plants, the gourami is fine now. but i'm worrying about the harlequin rasboras.
My gourami has a growth on it's tail. It is growing in a cluster of cysts that resemble a cluster of grapes when viewing from above. These cysts start tiny and red, but grow larger and turn black. The cluster like growth sounded like cauliflower disease, but they are not white. Do you think this...
