cherry shrimp minnow

I will be stocking cherry shrimp in the new 12 gallon long aquarium. Are nerite snails and white cloud minnows compatible with cherries? Also when I buy my initial shrimp, how many should I buy? I would like to see them breed and grow so I would like the minimum number. I want to stock about...
