Hello! Newcomer in the hobby here. I would like some advice regarding water hardness.
My tank has been set up for nearly 2 months, and I haven't seen any signs of plants/animals reacting negatively to the low GH of my water (according to the liquid test kit, it's at most 3°dH). I have java fern...
I am setting up a (loose) wild betta biotope and would like an invert to help clean up waste. (Currently bladder snail waste, but soon it will be betta waste.) I know that CRS can take the lower PH, but maybe not the higher temperature. Any experience keeping inverts in these conditions?
anyone ever tried 'shrimps" in blackwater? will they survive? bad idea?
-- if driftwood added for blackwater effect...water should be soft and ph low right?
...will it contradict shrimps supposedly for very clean water?
or is this question out of range? lolz jw
