kvuyk2 10g - Your Tanks

User

kvuyk2

Size

10g

Date Started

January 2007

Lighting

13w and 14w Fluorescent bulbs

Equipment

1 Whisper 10g hang-on filter containing peat in a sock, 1 30g Cascade Shark.

CO2

DIY with an up-to-20g yeast CO2 kit. A few bubbles released every minute
-Recently retired this method. I aim for as little surface distrubance as possible

Substrate

Natural medium-sized gravel. Decorative rocks are Texas Holy Rock

Parameters

Typical parameter levels for a freshwater tank using Chicago's hard water. 10-25% weekly water changes with siphon. If you don't own a siphon, I suggest you purchase one. It makes water changes--and stirring up your substrate--a breeze.

Fertilization

Seachem's Flourish Comprehensive Supplement once a week. Flourish tabs.

Plants

Amazon Sword, Pennywort, Hornwort, Rotala Indica, Bacopa Australis, Bacopa Carolina, Bacopa Monieri, Aponogeton Crispus, Aponogeton Ulvaceous, Java Fern, Java Moss, Cryptocryne Wendtii - bronze, Parva Crypt, Anubias Barteri, Anubias Nana, Pennywort, Dwarf Sagittaria, Potamogeton, Ozelot Sword, 4-Leaf Clover, Stargrass

Inhabitants

1 Gudgeon Goby (f), 1 male Lyretail Guppy, 1 Otocinclus, 1 Amano Shrimp, 1 Assassin Snail, 2 Dwarf Puffers, and lots of pond snails for the puffers to attack and eat.

Comments

I moved this tank from college July of 2008, so it's been moved once since it started up in 2007. The Rotala Indica was my first live plant EVER in 2007.
