Pretty unlikely for most carpetting plants. The plant that should work is Hydrocotyle tripartita "Japan".

I read your post on the use of Aquasoil and I wanted to ask your opinion. I have a beamworks 36" light on a 45gallon tank. The tank is a tall, 24" tall, and I really want to grow some kinds of carpet plants. Is this light strong enough?
