I'm thinking about ordering those PCB's for 5730 LEDs.

They come in all varying amounts for the # of LEDs'

What do you think is a good number of LEDs/puck? The more the better????

I like the 85mm size of the PCB's but I can get aluminum rod all the way up to 12" dia. So the PCB size won't really matter.

The data sheet gives 45-49 Lumens/LED so that's some indicator of brightness I guess. Rough estimate 20Leds X 45 Lumens= 900 lumens per puck.

I looked at cooper as well. But its hard to source large diameter cooper in the 3" range for heatsink if you go with the those 85mm PCB's.
The largest diameter cooper rod I can get here is 1.25"

Good ideas and idea.. I'll have to do some thinking
about this..
I have some ideas regarding a more premium puck series using copper , diamond dust ect..
BUT right now all of this is down the road a bit..
