Curious if anyone is using a small powerhead as their CO2 diffuser and their experiences with it? Anyone using the HOB intake method that can provide experience? Trying to decide if I want to go with a proper diffuser or get a small powerhead or use my HOB.
I used a small intank filter (basically a powerhead) as a reactor for a while, what i did was use a 500ml plastic bottle and cut a small slit on the side near the top (bottle upside down) and put the output of the filter through the slit, it created a nice vortex reactor that achieved probably 95% dissolution
Similar to this but with the filter output at the very top and the co2 hose directly connected to the filter airline connection
I used one based on the tom Barr internal reactor design. They work great but do take up tank space unless placed in a hob or sump.
