I love my eheim 2215, why isn't an eheim classic an option?

If it's heavily planted I think over time, you'll need to boost the flow output with any of those filters with powerheads.

I think any of those filters will give you adequate filtration, however. I'd go with whichever one you can find the best deal on.

I don't know if it's just me or not, but i've heard some bad things about the xp4, like how the motor likes to die randomly. I would say the xp3 or the Eheim is the better choice.

One 2217 isn't gonna be enough IMO. If you don't want two filters and want to stick with eheim you should rather consider Pro 3e 2078 or pro 3 2080

I've got 2 fluval 404s on my 75, they work fine. One would probably be adequate, but I got them for $85 shipped each, brand new.

A marineland C-530 would work well I think. About $210 shipped on ebay, plus it includes media. More flow as well.

Eheims other than the classics all seem very overpriced to me, not worth it when you could get an FX5 for less.

Since you don't have many fish, one canister like a fluval 405, rena XP3, eheim 2217, or marineland C-360 would be adequate. The flow won't be much (no more than 300GPH, most likely) but if you need more circulation you can add a powerhead.
