Clearing up yellowed acrylic tank?

Is there a way to clear up the yellow in an aging acrylic tank? Thanks.

Yellowing on the inside? I hear a lot of talk about how a acrylic tank is bad after 5 years, but I know people who have had acrylic tanks longer then that with no problem.
I also seen a a clouded scratched acrylic tank come out like new...

I think the acrylic turning slightly yellow. It's the whole tank. I found this old tank so far there's nothing in it. I can see the entire thing has this slightly yellowish maybe slightly tanned color. I can't rub the color off with my finger so I think it's due to old age.

Real acrylic wont turn yellow, but alternative plastic blends that look like acrylic will. No idea how to clean it.

I'm not into the image, but into the hobby...

My old acrylic tank wasn't yellow and it was really old, it could be this tank isn't acrylic at all.

You might be able to find materials around the house to try to scratch off the yellow to see if it can be polished up. If you have a Mr. Clean sponge it won't damage the tank if it is acrylic. Try a toothpaste, baking soda and/or diatomaeous earth to see if it takes off the yellow. Any of those will scratch the material whether it is acrylic or plastic big time then if you decide to go ahead with the project a polishing kit will remove those scratches.

Oh I see. Probably not acrylic then. It's a cheap looking tank. Thanks all.
