Most effective method(s) for injecting CO2

Hi All,

I've been out of the game for a number of years, and recently have jumped back in. With regards to CO2, what is considered the best ways to get it dissolved into the tank?

Before i went on hiatus (~5 yrs ago), I was injecting CO2 directly into the needle wheel impeller of my sump's pump return. The return flow went through a PVC reactor to catch some of the bubbles before it hit my tank. It seemed to work pretty good, but I went through my CO2 pretty quickly to keep my levels up (partly due to the sump system I know).

I'm running that same system right now, with the seltzer water effect. But now exploring some different ideas, to see whats the latest and greatest

Thanks!

There are devices call CO2 reactors that can be placed in line on your pump hose that use a spinning impeller to mix and dissolve the fine bubbles into the water. I believe some of these systems completely dissolve the CO2 leaving no small bubbles remaining.

there is no way to prevent co2 mist in your tank, save for a properly sized reactor. you might want to try to seal your sump if possible to limit outgassing. search sump sealing on tom barr's site. i think he used plastic wrap.
