Need advice on an R/O system??

I have a 75 gallon planted tank established over 1 year. I am always fighting diatoms. I have very hard tap water. TDS 450+, KH 14, GH 23 and high silicates, PH 8.6. I inject co2. Plants always struggle because of diatoms. Fish are all healthy.

Can anyone recommend an R/O system? I've been researching BRS and Spectrapure and now feel even more confused. I need a portable system I can attach to my garden hose. Di or no DI?. Will a system without DI filter silicates? How many stages?

Thanks for any help!

Great equipment. An you can get a silica buster for diatom control.

Liquagen offers a 4 stage RO unit on Amazon and Evil Bay I believe. The one I got for my 75g, 40g & 20g tanks is a 150g/day unit. Seems to work very well - and customer support seems to be pretty good.
Your $250 should/could/may be enough, LOL. My RO system was not that expensive - then I added the $25 storage drum, the air pump, the 300w heater, some lighting so I can see in the drum, the large pond pump to pump the water from the drum to my tanks, the piping to pump the water, the check valve I forgot to add originally, the float valve to shut off the water flow to the drum when it is full, misc. wiring and smart plugs, etc, etc. You get the idea, the RO unit is not all you need to get.

I went with a BRS 150GPD water saver setup and then upgraded the membrane to get the spectrapure ones after about a year as I also normally am in the 450+ TDS range. I was getting sub 10 TDS with BRS membranes and then now I see about 2-3 with the pair of spectrapure membranes.

Thanks for the recommendations. I purchased a BRS 5 Stage Plus system. It arrived with a broken .99 fitting so I'm waiting for them to send a replacement part. Argh! Customer service has been great. The system looks well made and came in excellent packaging.
