Fluval FX6 vs Eheim professional 3 1200xl

Which external filter would you go for?

I have the choice between a Fluval FX6 or an Eheim professional 3 1200xl

Which would be better for an 800 liter tank?

The Fluval:
Flow Rate: 2130 L PER HOUR
Pump Output: 3500 L/H
Mechanical Area: 2,100 CM²
Media Basket Capacity: 5.9 L
Filtration Volume: 20 L

The Eheim has a flow rate of 1730 litres per hour & 3000 litres an hour pump rate

Has anyone got any advise or recommendations?

Thanks

I would go with the fluval. Its easier to go down in power with a ball valve then go up at a later date.

If money is no object I would do 2 oase thermo 600 so you get the prefilter and built in heater.

I don't really have a recommendation for which to select, but I do have a little input...
In your part of the world, can you get replacement parts or filter pads easier for one unit vs the other unit?
Locally I can get almost whatever I would need for the Fluval unit. The Eheim unit I would need to order everything.

Thanks both

I have been drawn to the FX6 as there seems to be alot more information and reviews on it vs the Eheim one

I think with the Fluval I can just add or remove additional filtration media so that might be the better option

I will be running the outflow through an external reactor

I have been recommended to run either 2x 300w or 2x 500w heaters for this size tank - one in each corner.

I am yet to decide whether to go for normal glass heaters or the titanium ones and a controller

I have 2 -FX6 on my heavily stocked 180 gallon aquarium and they work great.
