Need a recommendation on a good 10-15 gallon tank

After my Marineland 10-gallon decided to self-empty last night, I find myself shopping for an aquarium again. Anybody can recommend a good brand of acrylic in the 10-15 gallon range?

I'd like something with a black backing on it, can hang an aquaclear filter, and doesn't have black framing on it. Interesting shapes are ok, but not necessary.

Just not sure which brands/manufacturers are good or bad, would like something reputable since I'm a bit paranoid right now.

Not very familiar with acrylic tanks. I always choose glass for scratch resistance.

Landen 45P is well regarded. As are UNS tanks. Sorry no help on the acrylic brands.

No worries. I'm not really completely against glass either, I'm just really paranoid about them at the moment.
But I wouldn't be against paying for a better quality tank. I'll have to look into those.

Ended up ordering a tank from one of the forum sponsors. 17 gallon cube from SR Aquaristik.

A bit different than I originally thought I wanted, but I liked the look of a black-siliconed cube.

I've never seen any of their tanks in-person, so I hope you'll take lots of photos when you receive it, @HHaase.

I'm not sure who their OEM is (they're selling some of the same stuff Aquatop offers in the US - I have some Aquatop rimless cubes) but they have some interesting dimensions at decent-ish prices. Their 60cm x 25cm x 25 cm (23.6in x 9.8in x 9.8in) 9.8gal tank has dimensions that are stellar for shrimp.

I need to figure out how to add a security certificate to my web hosting so that photos will show up.

If I can get that sorted out I can start posting a lot more photos in short order.

A lot of folks here (myself included) use imgur to post photos. Very easy and you can keep them private to your account and wherever you link them.

Thought about that one. But I finally got the SSL certificate sorted out, so photos are able to easily post now!

Tank arrives tomorrow. Getting pretty excited again. Need to go get a can of plasti-dip this evening so I can get the back side covered as soon as it arrives.

If it's not too late you might consider getting window security film instead. It's cheap, will cover the back, comes in different varieties, and is easily removable if you prefer something else down the road.

I'm liking that idea, and pretty obvious now that I think about it. I actually have multiple rolls of colored vinyl sitting around for my cutter. Not sure if I have any black but I do have a silver/grey that would possibly look fantastic. That and it'll save me a lot of time.
