Sun Sun Canister Issue

I have a Sun Sun 302 canister filter that is practically new . I only ran it for a couple of months until my health took a dive and I had to give up the hobby for a while . Now I am back and I thought I might as well use the 302 so I have it running out of a container of water to check it out before putting it on a tank . My issue is it has a loud humming noise . It is annoying to say the least and I do not remember it doing that before when I had it going . I have cleaned and lubed it well to no avail . Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue with a Sun Sun filter and maybe a solution?
Thanks for reading .

My wife says if I get one more aquarium she is going to leave me . I sure am going to miss her fried chicken .

i had a sun sun on my 120g discus tank and it was nothing but trouble. i never could get it to stop humming and the quick release thing was always cracking and leaking. bit the bullet, took the loss and bought a pennplax. for me and my discus and then my 75g angelfish they both have been worry free and easy maintenance.

I have 3 sun suns running right now and I have to touch them to tell if they are running. Have a 4th in the closet only because it needs a new gasket and I just never seem to get around to it.

I have a 603b on a 10g that humms every now and then, but it seems to be corrected by adjusting the return lines. I am starting to feel like all filters have a % of not working well. SunSun is a little higher chance than the high end brands were you're really just paying for the lower chance of failure/issues.

That said, I also currently have a Fluval filter running, Aquatop (SunSun with a different label) and an Aqueon HOB. All have their benefits and short comings.

I have duel sunsun 304bs, and they are dead silent. I actually hear the few bubbles in the co2 reactor over them. HOWEVER, They can be noisy at first, or if they are allowed to dry out. My second one I got I almost returned because it was rattling pretty bad. But after a few weeks it became dead silent like the other. I think they need a little bacteria slim to build up to lubricant them.
Every once in a while, or after cleaning something they start humming a bit. Sometimes it can be fixed by turning them off and then back on. But mine always go back to being quiet.
