UNS Tanks

I'm in the process of cycling a new Ultum Nature Systems 60s tank. I'm being extra careful, but the tank is already scratched in multiple places. I haven't experienced this level of glass softness with my other tanks (I've got three others running (two with starfire glass), and there is only one single scratch between the three after running them for years). Is this a common UNS tank issue, or did I just get lucky?

Low iron glass is easier to scratch. I'd get soft substrates. Even normal aquarium glass gets scratched easily with rough substrates. Don't use magnet algae scrapers. Use razor blade algae scrapers. I've never had a scratch with them. If you're picky like me, sell the aquarium and get another one if the scratch isn't that bad. I'm sure someone would love to have it.

That could be my issue - this is my first tank using sand. I haven't needed to clean the glass yet. I think my lily pipes did the scratching while I was determining where to put them. Not ready to move the tank along just yet. I'll just train my eyes not to look there first.

Knowing myself, my eyes would focus on the scratch every viewing...
