Plus parts for Fluvals are everywhere and much much cheaper.

I didn’t really think of that, seems like it would work then to have a 406 as the second filter other than the 600. I could get almost all my bio filtration with Eheim then mechanical done with Fluval! Anyone have any comments on this. Please anyone can help lol

Look at what $14 buys you for each brand.

Eheim you get 5 thin pads. Fluval you get 10 pads and 4 of them are huge.
SKYE.__.HIGH and SKYE.__.HIGH like this.

how does the noise compare between the larger fluval and eheim filters? My 2211 eheim is dead silent, my 2213 is sometimes but I'm trying to find a loose connection somewhere b/c it some times develops a trickling sound.

I've seen a few videos where the fx4 and fx6 seem to be quite noisy.

@guss6464: that Eheim set of replacement filter pads are ~$11 when on sale at Big Al's

@aubie98: my Fluval 404 sounded like a machine gun, even after I replaced the $25 empeler. In addition, check how many people complain on the web about Fluval's hoses and hose addapters
