importing CRS from Taiwan/?

Hi,

I just watched a 28min long video clip on Youtube about a CRS seller in Taiwan. He showed how his "shrimp product lines" are.... and how to raise the shrimps. He dressed up not very fancy at all... however, he makes so much that he can afford a Lomborgini race car!! Amazing.

His shrimps...even with S grade...is very very solid and very nice color!!

Do you think if it is worth importing those higher grade shrimps into US? I check with one vendor....doing the right way...troublesome but cheaper shipping...of course taking longer! The other way is very fast...2 3 days. But it is not legitimate... The shipping is about $200...

At the same time, I am still waiting for fish and wild... department to call back for the procedures... Very hassel but I may still like to try.

Is it worth a try? I meant.... a try to get a better color shrimps? Or I just do not feel confident on the local sellers

Any input?

not worth it.

there is a lot more to it than just paying for shipping.

there are more than a few quality sellers in the US.

Hey if you have the money and want to reach vendor minimum buys and get all the permits and licensing there is a market for high end good color shrimp but is limited.

Do it the non legal way is not worth it, you end up getting the shrimp seized and destroyed as well as face fines and criminal charges.

It is against board policy as well to discus illegal importation

Doing it the legal way is not worth it either. Why do you think no one is doing it now? Lol

It is worth it if you can do it on a big enough scale. Your not going to get rich but can make some extra money

If I travel to Hong Kong, can I just come back with a box of shrimp? Or I need extra permit too?

It is illegal to carry them back or ship them home, etc. It's all illegal unless you have a license to import them and schedule all of the inspections you need, and perform all of the customs paperwork and routines. It's a pain in the ass, and it's definitely not worth it. There are not enough customers willing to pay enough. You might make some money, but you will work very hard for that money, you would be better off just getting a part time job, it would pay more and be less work.
