I'm subscribing. I had a handful of rili shrimp. Most of them were more blue than red, but few of them ever really grew. And then they all disappeared while I was out of town for a few days. I think maybe the ramshorn snails ate them. Anyhow, I have one left and I'm looking for something to breed her with. Not sure if I should get more rilis or try a blue velvet. I heard that blue velvets and rilis can breed without losing color. Can anyone confirm?

kinda depends on what type of blue rili you start with. my blue rili came from my red rili and i got ever thing from clear with light blue tint the the clear with red to a pretty pearly blue and even some with blue where the red normally is.

Blue rilis can throw red rilis, blue rilis, cherries and any variety in between.

Yes, you can cross BV with BR, but you will lose the BV mutation that causes near 100% blue shrimp. To some, not a big deal, to others it is.
