RO water will not typically stay at a pH of 5.0 with a GH and TDS of 0 on its own. The initial low pH is due to some CO2 that is forced into the water when it passes through the RO membrane.

So, once you add Salty Shrimp GH+ and the water spends some time in your tank the pH should stabilize somewhere between 6.2 and 6.6.

If you have low ph and use amazonia it will pull your ph way down with ro. I use tap water for the first 3 months with water changes until it loses its buffer then i use ro. Mine took my tanks to 5.2 with a starting ph of about 6.8-7.2. Africana took it to sub 5
