crs in a 5 gallon

Hi all,
I'm planing a 5 gallon planted tank for crystal red shrimp. How many shrimp should I start with? Additionally would fish like cpd's eat the babies? Thanks

once you cycle the tank and the water parameters are ready for shrimp. you can easily fit a nice amount of them in a 5G tank. I'd stay away from any fish in such a small tank, even CPDs will eat babies.

10 shrimp would be a good start I think. I would avoid fish as well.

you dont need any fish. you'll find yourself locked into stairing the shrimp anyways!

Any fish will try to eat shrimp babies, the only ones that will not eat babies as often as other fish will be fry.

I agree with them, 10 cherry's is enough, no fish no snails no other inverts at all.
in good conditions they'll have new babies for you in a couple months and your population could easily be near 100 within 6 months lol

Perhaps 3 cpd's would be a good thing because some babies would survive but not all. I can't care for 100 shrimp. Therefore if some survived but not all it could work out. What do you guys think?
