Question Office tank water

A quick question for all those with desktop tanks at the office. I wish to set on up myself for some neos but also wanted to add some crs/cbs. What are you using to fill/water change? I have access to tap and the deer park water cooler, which may earn me a few funny looks, but hey I can always say the shrimp are drinking my share. But really want to know about water quality for the crs/cbs.

I usually fill up a gallon jug ever weekend with RO and use that for top offs all week.

, I have small tanks in my living room and I just keep a water jug filled ready for top offs under the table. I also use it for water changes. Nothing beats a turkey baster to vacuum too!!!

I have a CRS tank at work. My tap water is really hard so I use the office RO drinking water and reminralize to bring the GH up to 5. I keep a jug of pure RO water without any addictive for top offs. Only add the GH booster when doing water changes.

I also pre-fill the water change jug in the beginning of the week and let it sit to temp match the tank (I don't run a heater)

So I have 3 bottles under my desk, 1 for dumping water, 1 for water change fresh water, 1 for top off.

Since you are on the east coast you may have softer water, test your tap to see where it's at. Ideally you want the following parameter for CRS
PH: 6-7
KH: 0-2
GH: 4-6
TDS: 80-160

Honestly, the easiest way is to just use RO (especially since it's free in the office and reminalize to bring the GH up (TDS will come up with it). This way you will have 3 out 4 parameters perfect in 1 shot. Then your PH will just be what it wants to be.

I use the office tap water that goes through some kind of commercial filter attached to the water cooler. I also use the spring water that is delivered by Ozarka. I try to mix half and half of both.
