shrimp and lead exposure

Are shrimp particularly sensitive to lead?

I am setting up a tank for Neos and want to use an old piece of driftwood I haven't used in ages. It is one of those pieces with the slate screwed to the bottom, or it was.

I did not like the orientation of wood on the slate so I ditched it years ago. Of course the wood wouldn't ever sink without the slate. So I bored out two holes in the bottom with a 1 inch paddle bit. Smeared some silicone all around the inside to "seal" it filled them with lead shot and then globbed the silicone on top to close the hole.

I would imagine very little if any lead is exposed to the water, but it might be. Never had any problems using this in any fish tanks before, but I'm a little hesitant to put it in a shrimp tank before asking.
