I like the way they look. So I tend to keep them anyways. They burrow in sand and soil like mts, but are pretty and take care of any pest snails and left over food.
I get lazy about checking for snails on plants.

They are very handy at keeping pest snail populations in check. If you don't like pond snails, assassins are a nice option.

Sounds like a good addition, I'll have a few when my tank is ready.

Can they kill p diffusa or nerites? Assassin snails are pretty in their own right, and I've got some hitchhiker pest snails, but I've also got a little horned nerite and a mystery snail that are as important to me as my shrimps or fish or plants.

If the nerites or mysteries are bigger than assassins. I think the assassins won't bother them at all IME. The little horned nerite you have will be a good bait if assassins run out of food.

they will group up on bigger snails. Not safe to have with other snails if you like your other snails.

I definitely don't want to risk my little nerite, so I'll stick to having the giant tweezers handy and grabbing the little pesties when I notice them.

They're not a big problem, and actually, the nerite eggs are probably more of an eyesore than these snails. They're kind of like tiny ramshorns turned on their side. Nonetheless, the nerite was invited and these guys were definitely not.

I think its funny that so many people want to get rid of one species of snail using another species of snail and then are concerned about their other species of snail! makes your head spin lol

I had a golf-ball sized mystery snail in my old tank, and the assassin snails never ganged up on it.
