Shrimp and my filter intake

My shrimp like to go near my filter output and I can't tell if sometimes the shrimp is stuck from the suction or is just chilling. The intake holes are very small slits much like the ADA intake pipe. Small enough the shrimp cant get sucked up, but im just afraid its gonna rip their hands and legs off or something. Its some cheap knockoff of ADA. Anyone know how strong a shrimp is haha? Flow also is to filter ehiem 2213 for more reference. Thanks!

You could always get a sponge attachment for the filter. It goes around the intake and provides an additional surface for biological filtration from beneficial microbes to take place on/in. Also shrimp should enjoy feeding on the edible debris and algae that gets stuck on it.
