how many are to many

A local fish club member gave me a few cherry shrimp last fall for my 15 gallon tank.

I do not have an accurate count. I am guessing there are at least 50 in there now. I have moved quite a few immature females with saddles into one of the Fluval Spec V's to try to cut the breeding numbers down. The other has a betta in it.

I do feed a bit of food twice a day - as I have neons and exclamation point rasboras in the tank. For the rasboras to get anything to eat, I find I have to feed a bit a couple times a day. The shrimp are an excellent clean up crew. There are also 3 otos in the tank.

How do you determine when you have to many shrimp? Is their bio-load so low you don't need to worry about it?

I have the 15 and two Fluval Spec V tanks. I do not have a big huge tank for them to move into.

They usually stop breeding when they feel there are too many. I have a tank which I believe is at capacity ;( lol

When I can't see the gravel, then I might have too many shrimp. Lol. Don't worry, they will stop breeding when there's too many

Ok, I will stop worrying!

I didn't want to get over stocked, between fish and shrimp.

Thank you!
