birth of a shrimplet (cloverfield)

Has anyone else watched the magic moment when a shrimplet is not so much born as 'flicked off' into the world and thought of a particular scene from the movie Cloverfield? LOL, love it!

ive actually had the distinct pleasure of watching shrimplets being born in a bag. was initially fearful they were eggs being dropped but they started moving around on their own.

I thought cloverfield was an okay movie. just a lot of troubled characters with a lot of issues which I couldnt really relate to. the director left a lot to the imagination.

I really liked that movie too, though I can see why many people didn't (shaky camera, shallow characters, lots left to the imagination indeed). But watching my first shrimplets being liberated yesterday, falling from mama(s) and hitting the ground running, I couldn't help but think of the similar scene from the movie. Like acitydweller, I had to look really hard to convince myself that I was not seeing eggs being dropped. I was surprised that from the day the eggs were laid until now, the shrimplets did not appear any larger or any different from the eggs, being just as white and curled into a ball until the moment they are free. But then there they are, tiny white miniature versions of the adults hanging out on the moss. Even my wife got excited to see that happen (almost as excited as the male shrimp in the tank who somehow sensed that they would soon be getting some action), so it was a happy day!
