cambarellus shufeldtii breeding??
Hey guys, I have kept a trio of C. shufeldtii for about 2 months now and about 2 weeks ago, one of the females became berried.
Today I come home and immediately saw the female has made her self quite a cave in my substrate (was bound to happen). More worrying though is the fact that some of her eggs (still attached to her belly) are beginning to fungus, as I can clearly see they are different color from the others and also starting to have hyphae coming out of them.
my question is....well first of all, how do they let their eggs fungus while still on them??
also second of all, is there a way to get the egg off her so it doesn't destroy the entire batch? she only has a dozen or so of them and I want to have at least some of them survive (if only to save me the embarrassment of poor husbandry).
pics coming soon
