Critter ID?

Not sure what they are. Where they came from. Looking for the usual answers: harmful? How did they get there? Should i treat for them or leave them be?

Tank info:

10gal. Planted+ light and HOB filter.

2 hornwort plants that seem to have died off (just kind of snapped them from their anchors. They never really seemed to take hold/root)

1 java fern (seems healthy green color. Some reddening on the leaves)

Seachem flourite substrate and 1 driftwood.

1 male betta.

Weekly water changes 10-20%
Tank is about 1year old. Still kind of going through brown algae uglies. Betta seems healthy. No abnormalities noticed.

Definitely looks like some baby snails they probably hitched a ride on plants or materials. Most snails are not harmful and can actually be beneficial in eating up algae and cleaning up the glass. If you dont want them you can simply try to remove them physically.

Looks like mini ramshorns. They are harmless but since they only grow up to a few mm large, they can easily multiple and sustain themselves on just the biofilm in the tank. Most likely hitchhiked via plants/décor from another tank as EvanderT mentioned. I personally dislike them and found no way to get rid of them in my shrimp tank w/ nerites unless I break down the tank completely. Best to remove them while you can or you may have to resort to meds or a loach in the future.
