How often should I feed my shrimp?

Hi all

I have a 55 gallon high tech heavily planted tank with about 150 crystal red shrimps and maybe 30 amano shrimp. They are breeding happily and there's some algae to eat as well. I feed them every 2nd day maybe 6-8 pellets of shrimp food and 2x a week Bacter AE. On top of that, daily flake food for my fish. Some of it drops to the ground and many shrimp go to the top to try to grab a flake before the fish get them. Generally the shrimp go absolutely nuts when I feed them but the more I read the forums, the more I think I may be overfeeding them. I'd just like some comparison to what you all do in terms of feeding quantity.

Thanks!

Every tank is different but as long as they are swarming the food and making it all go away, I'd say that you're not overfeeding at every other day. Roughly 200 shrimp is a very different situation than folks who have < 20 are facing. With small shrimp populations, lots of times they show no interest in food because it's everywhere.
